Flower Barbeque
Dulcie was asleep, so was the Horse…The youngest member of the human family woke them up!
…Dulcie took off her necklace and apron, and then she went under the bed for a few minutes.
.
.
Then the horse jumped on the bed!
The Quimper Hitty human decided that energy needed to be expended outside while the small human’s Parents slept in…
…so we went across the street to the park!
The small human assembled leaf and fern plates…
…and made us all a flower barbeque….
…and we made an interesting culinary discovery!

Is it my imagination or does anyone else see the resemblance between that adorable little human and Dulcie? What beautiful colorful plates of ferns and flowers she made…florist quality for sure.
I think you are right – I carved Dulcie when the littlest human was only 6 months old, and didn’t know they would be so alike and so fond of each other (but I hoped!)
Your granddaughter is enchanting, as are the horse and bed and bedding- did you carve the horse and make the bedding? The flowers are exquisite- all in all, it looks like a delightful morning for Little One, Dulcie, Horse and You! 🙂 Happy Mothers Day (almost) 🙂
I did make most of the bedding (except for the yellow quilt, which was sent to me by a Hitty friend). The horse is from a german toy-making company called Ostheimer, who also made the little wooden cat that has been hanging about lately. I think the youngest human is very enchanting, and it was a delightful morning! The Flower Barbeque has got to be one of my favourite meals of all time. Thank you so much for the mother’s day wishes, I wish you the same and hope you and yours are in a cool damp place, far away from the fires!
A wonderful morning adventure. What fun for the two of you and for Dulcie and Horse..great photos of the adorable smallest human.
Thank you – it was a wonderful morning, so fun and creative and beautiful – I am so glad I had my camera handy – a lovely adventure, but grandma had to go off and have a nap afterward!
Well, a flower barbeque! Who would have thought that that was on the score for an early morning jaunt? What a lovely, but energetic time you must have had with the sweet gdaughter. She is enchanting, as is Dulcie and company.
It was a surprising meal, but the most fun I’ve had in ages!
Your culinary discovery? A yellow reflection on the underside of one’s chin indicates a love of butter? (Well, it held true in my childhood…) Goodness, one only has to count my chins now to divine that! Or dandelions are edible? It looks like a delightful moment, though – can’t beat the company. Thank you!
Yes – Dulcie likes Butter!! It was the best meal ever – such beautiful plates of food, and such charming sweet company.
I remember playing with wooden animals and flowers with my mormor(grandma). lovely memories you are creating with your granddaughter.
I am so happy to get to play with the littlest human – it is lovely to be a mormor (and perhaps a farmor someday to my boys hypothetical kids)!
What an adorable littlest human! Such an imagination. I so understand having to nap afterwards!
She was a charming and delightful addition to our weekend – we were so happy to have the family visit for a few days.
