Tansy at the dig
Trowels in Hand, Tansy and her favourite photographer headed off to the dig,
and once at the site, Tansy clambered up a nearby Douglas Fir,
and wedged herself into a standing position where she could supervise the digging.

.
She gazed 1.4 m down to the bottom of the pit…
…and helped triangulate artifact locations.
Buckets of dirt were heaved up to ground level….
and screened through quarter-inch, and then eighth-inch mesh…
…after a hard day at the pit, Tansy had a little swing on the rope…
…before hopping back into her Pelican Case for the trip back to the cabin!

What a beautiful and serene forest. I can see that Tansy was a huge help. She appears to have excellent supervisor skills. Did they find what they were digging for?
Tansy was a help! Some interesting objects were found, and interesting layers suggesting positive results. They have to wait until radiocarbon dating is complete to find out if they actually did find what they were digging for!
I can’t but think that Tansy is a beloved member of the archaeological team. What a trooper.
The crew were apparently delighted to see her again! I know she has a good time on her expeditions, and the rest of the Quimper Hittys look forward to her return as she always has entertaining stories to tell!
I’m very grateful for these gentle glimpses into a fascinating discipline. The photos of the forest are so soothing. Thank you, Tansy!
The Coastal Rainforests are very green and pleasant, though they can be somewhat damp. Like the rest of the crew, Tansy has rain gear just for that eventuality.
That has to be the most beautiful place on earth to be working! Tansy and her Team are so lucky to be there! Thank you for the wonderful photos!
It is sublime, though it takes an excellent photographer to convey it – luckily, Tansy has her favourite photographer along to document the experience!
That Tansy is such an intrepid scientist. Love the photo of her showing her Fun loving side on the swing! Great pics and some interesting info.
Even scientists goof off once in a while! We are glad you enjoyed the pictures of Tansy’s latest project!
