The Bee Balm is so exotic looking! I’m surprised that you have had a dry summer…. we had a record breaking wet summer. How did the rain get to us and miss you? Amazing….
Even in Victoria there are little microclimates! It is normally about 5 degrees cooler here than where you live, The sun was slanting in under the rain – I had to stop scrubbing walls and run for my camera to catch Min admiring the shower!
Min’s bee balm reminds me of the little golden book “The little red hen”. Min worked so hard at caring for that little plant. Her patience paid off. Her sweet little rain coat, hat and smile made my day.
It pouring rain here in Pennsylvania today too. We needed it. A good day to stay indoors and keep company with our Hittys.
P.S. Becky, your comments are soooooo clever. Love them.
Rain, rain, thanks for coming.
You’ve made the QH flowers very becoming.
Rainy flower, rainy girl,
Waters plants, and makes hair curl!
Min! Sweet girl. I am happy for your refreshment and joy.
She is a darling, and makes everything seem cheerfuller!

Interesting-looking plant, isn’t it? We are in the rainshadow of the Olympic Peninsula here, and often have dry summers!
only a few miles away and we had a beautiful afternoon, I weeded, raked and pruned. Rain started after dinner.

Min was very persistent! The Bees were happy – so were the hummingbirds (which refused to alight while Min was standing there hopefully!)
Lovely photos. Your flowers are so pretty as are the girls. Rainy days are always welcome I think. Good excuse to curl up with a book and cuppa!
A cuppa tea sounds just the thing…excuse me while I go put the kettle on…
