A Little bit of Almost Spring
After days of being cooped up because of the snow and ice storms, Mary Ann was anxious to go outside!
We can’t remember what these are going to be – crocus, perhaps? A little windowsill mystery for the time being…
.
.
The neighbour’s hens felt cooped up too, so Mary Ann invited them over to enjoy some delicacies from our compost heap!
.
.
There are a few tiny patches of snow still…
.
.
…but the lovely fragrance and colour of the Witch Hazel blossoms are a little bit of almost spring!

Good to breathe the air of coming Spring!
It sure was – a bit of sky, and a bit of blossom can do wonders for the tired brain!
What a refreshing narrative. Thank you, Mary Ann and QH human!
You are welcome! I am not normally fond of yellow, but I just love Witch Hazel!
Bliss!
Even Mary Ann felt “blissed”.
Good that she was able to get out and enjoy the little bit of spring that is on its way.
She got muddy boots and hem, but even that couldn’t put a damper on her enjoyment!
How nice that Spring is in the air. The Quimper girls are going to love it.
That is very true!
always lovely to see Mary Ann during her gentle pursuits. I am quite amazed at her bravery being so close to those giant chickens!! She is courageous as well as charming.
Yes, those birds have grown a lot since they were wee fluffy pullets! Mary Ann knew they were not going to peck her when there was a delicious rotten apple to be had!
