April Camas
We love this time of year when the protected Garry Oak ecosystem is in its glory.
Mighty Oaks from little acorn flowers grow…
.
.
…but most glorious of all are the Camas flowers – some tall in rafts of blue and indigo…
.
.
…but this one was Hitty sized, due to the relative lack of water on a patch of mossy bedrock!
.
.
An exquisite flower!

Camas are one of my favorites!
Meadows of Camas are just the loveliest shade of blue!
that final photo is just so perfect. What a wonderful magical place to visit with your magical little wooden people.
We are so lucky this is on our regular walk home – it really lifts the spirits from ordinary to celestial!
We’ve entered Earthly wonderland with your Hittys today. Thank you for the excursion, beauty and friendship.
I do sometimes wish I could shrink down and experience a camas forest from a Hitty’s point of view!
Thank You for taking us along on this beautiful walk. It’s lovely. The Hittys certainly know how to find these sacred spaces.
We absolutely love this time of year, the camas are so beautiful!
An enchanted little forest for sure – Quimper girls enjoy the best !!!
They certainly do enjoy it!
I missed this post with the beautiful blue flowers, what a lovely place this is.
Perhaps it is the equivalent of your bluebell woods? Unfortunately the bluebells are encroaching here and they have to be weeded out of these protected areas.
