Kimono Treasure
Yesterday at the farmer’s market we were in for a big surprise! At the stall where Homestyle Japanese fare, and Kimono Upcycle Garments are sold, we were given a big bag of small pieces of cloth!
.
.
There were so many beautiful pieces of cloth, and a variety of colours and patterns and techniques. Constance liked this very beautiful piece of silk crepe with a delicate print…
.
.
…and this lovely ikat tulip in purple silk…
.
.
…and this is heavy weight silk brocade…
.
.
…and this delicate silk tie-dye.
.
.
So many tiny lovely perfect little bits of cloth, which one shall we start with?
.
.
Constance was overwhelmed…
.
.
…so was I! Thanks so much to the generosity of Mrs Tamae Yoshizawa for these treasured small pieces.
