Cherry Marzipan Pi

Rolling

Jane and Eugenia are making pie!

We might have invented this recipe, but it is so delicious that someone must have thought of it already:

To begin with, roll out pastry and prepare tart tins…this recipe is for nine human-sized tarts and six Hitty-sized pies with double crusts.

Scooping

…scoop out about 150 ml of jam…

.

.

Stirring

…Mix jam with about 100 g grated Marzipan…

.

.

Filling

…fill the tart shells with a spoonful of the mixture…

.

.

Marking

Put on a pastry lid and prick the lid to let steam escape.

.

.

Eating

…bake Hitty-sized pie/tiny tarts for 10 minutes at 375 degrees F.  Bake Human sized tarts about 15 minutes.

Let them cool in the tins for 10 minutes then slip them out of the tins to cool some more.

…invite friends over to celebrate Pi day (the 14th day of the third month – our favourite mathematical holiday!)

  1. Oh my….wish I was a neighbor and I would have hurried over (with a HItty or two) and joined the Hitty Approved Tester for a taste of these scrumptious creations!

  2. Those Hitty’s think of everything…the pi symbol on their pie…and it looks perfect to boot. Amazing. I’ve never eaten anything made with cherries that I didn’t find yummy.
