Rosa and Briar
Gilly wanted to play dollies, but Briar didn’t think it looked fun…
.
.
…she wanted to visit her natal Wildrose thicket outside.
.
.
She also visited the tame roses…
.
.
…and the species roses.
.
.
This one looked and smelled perfect!
.
.
Briar collected the hand saw…
.
.
…and used it to collect the beautiful blossom…
.
.
…so Gilly and the dolly could sniff it too.
.
.
Maybe playing dollies is fun if you play that the dolly was born in a Rose bush..
.
.
Love the story. Using the wheelbarrow to carry the rose home for Gilly to enjoy was wonderful.
I can imagine a soft breeze warming your beautiful roses and sending off a heavenly fragrance .
The tame rose is sweetly scented, but the Rosa Rugosa is particularly delightful!
I am glad that Briar found a way to play, and share, with Gilly. Gilly is such a sweetie. Briar is too.
Gilly is a sweetie pie, Briar is going to try and get the hang of playing with dollies once in a while…even though she is smaller than Gilly, she feels older and says that in the whole she’d rather be adventuring!
Of course, Briar would want to see where is roots came from…so to speak.
Gilly ever the sweet and obliging friend, accompanied Briar on his quest with the best possible result for both woodens.
Yes, Briar’s visit to her roots was a little bit poignant but decided that she’d much rather be a cute little wooden person than part of a vicious thicket of Roses gone wild…Gilly is oblivious to that kind of philosophy, and just wants to play with a new friend!
All the roses are so beautiful. My Dad’s favorite flowers. Little Briar is adorable, and Gilly has the best smile.
Thank you for such great Hitty stories. Celia
Thank you for your sweet comments, Briar was a spur of the moment experiment, which has turned out well for all the Quimper Hittys !
Gilly is so sweet..I am glad that Briar decided to play with her after all…..and that rose bed is lovely! Enjoyed the tour of your wonderful roses.
