Tansy and Butternut Girl visit Hotsprings
Tansy and Butternut Girl visited Hotsprings Island – a big earthquake in 2012 blocked off the spring for a while but it is trickling back….
.
.
…they dipped their toes in – yes it is warm!
.
.
Further down the trail they walked on a log…
.
.
…examined some kelp on the beach…
.
.
…and tucked themselves into a driftwood cave!
.
.
The structure is a little bath house, where visitors can change into bathing suits if they wish to bathe…
.
.
…someone has been collecting abalone shells!
.
.
Tansy wondered if it was the apprentice Watchman, Aubrey!

Ahhh, it looks so peaceful there at Hotsprings and then on to the beach. I admired how Tansy is helping Butternut Girl view the new to her (BG) scenery.
Butternut girl is getting an intensive course on local flora, fauna and geology! Luckily Tansy is happy to share her knowledge and experience, and Butternut girl is absorbing it all like a sponge!
Such beautiful calm scenes! I can almost imagine that I am there with them.
It is a beautiful place, and traveling by sailboat is one of the most lovely ways to experience it!
Let’s keep those earthquakes plates calm. The driftwood cave is gorgeous. Love its texture. The girls are having a wonderful time exploring and finding that cache of abalone shells. (my favorite)
Haida Gwaii is right at the edge of an active fault line, so earthquakes are pretty common, but not usually that strong! Everyone was relieved that the hotsprings have returned!
Oh what fun for the girls..Tansy gets to show Butternut Girl all her favorite places. Aubrey is a cute little apprentice watchman!
Tansy is enjoying it immensely, and Butternut girl is too! Aubrey is a great apprentice watchman, very friendly and informative, and enjoying herself too!
