Warm Pool

Tansy and Butternut Girl visited Hotsprings Island – a big earthquake in 2012 blocked off the spring for a while but it is trickling back….

Toes

…they dipped their toes in – yes it is warm!

.

Log

Further down the trail they walked on a log…

.

.

Kelp

…examined some kelp on the beach…

.

.

Driftwood

…and tucked themselves into a driftwood cave!

.

Structure

The structure is a little bath house, where visitors can change into bathing suits if they wish to bathe…

.

.

Abalone

…someone has been collecting abalone shells!

.

.

Aubrey and Tansy

Tansy wondered if it was the apprentice Watchman, Aubrey!

  1. Ahhh, it looks so peaceful there at Hotsprings and then on to the beach. I admired how Tansy is helping Butternut Girl view the new to her (BG) scenery.

    • Butternut girl is getting an intensive course on local flora, fauna and geology! Luckily Tansy is happy to share her knowledge and experience, and Butternut girl is absorbing it all like a sponge!

  2. Let’s keep those earthquakes plates calm. The driftwood cave is gorgeous. Love its texture. The girls are having a wonderful time exploring and finding that cache of abalone shells. (my favorite)

    • Haida Gwaii is right at the edge of an active fault line, so earthquakes are pretty common, but not usually that strong! Everyone was relieved that the hotsprings have returned!

  3. Oh what fun for the girls..Tansy gets to show Butternut Girl all her favorite places. Aubrey is a cute little apprentice watchman!
