Fibonacci
Each little cone is made of tiny cones of florets all arranged in a Fibonacci sequence (each number is the sum of the two preceding ones – Click here for the wiki page about this). Apparently all cauliflower and broccoli and many other plants and flowers grow in this fractal manner, but it is particularly visible in this species!

It is an amazing broccoli.I think it is so cool that one can see the Fibonacci pattern working so clearly in numerous forms within Nature. It’s a precious gift to us to see such patterns so clearly.
The closer you look, the more amazing things there are to see in nature…I often think that the Hittys must have an astonishing view of the world!

Absolutely fascinating! I have always been intrigued by fractals. My favorite ” The Mandelbrot Set” Who know that broccoli was so magical.
