Cinnamon Bun Day!
Arianell helped to bake a special treat!
.
.
She stirred the cardamom and sugar, which got added to the warm water, butter, milk and yeast…
.
.
…but she kept out of the way when the flour was added to the warm liquids.
.
.
The dough was lovely…
.
.
…and Arianell rolled out a scrap…
.
.
…mixed a filling together using cinnamon, sugar and butter…
.
.
…and made little rolls…
.
.
…which had to rise for an hour before baking.
.
Look at that!! Just in time for national Cinnamon Bun Day!!
This is a celebration beloved of the Quimper Hittys, and also marked annually in Sweden and parts of Finland! We all agreed that Arianell’s cinnamon buns were almost as good as the ones from Cafe Regatta in Helsinki!

National Cinnamon Bun Day. Wow. and Yum.
We think it is a day worth recognizing! The Hittys think this about most holidays involving delicious food!
ha!! ditto
Oh! La! La! What a treat! Warms up a cold, grey day! Thank you girls for lifting our spirits!
You are so welcome! We’re so happy to share the warmth and sweetness! with you!
The buns looks so luscious. It’s also a treat to see the makings, especially with a Hitty. Thanks, Arianell!
They were absolutely luscious! Arianell was happy to help produce these special treats, and it is a treat to cook with her, she has such an obliging and friendly outlook on life!
YUM. I do believe the heavenly aroma of these delights is coming right through the computers to our household. I can think of no other treat as yummy as homemade cinnamon buns. I can see why they get their very own celebration Day…however I celebrate more than one day a year, I must confess.
We love cinnamon buns too – why not celebrate more often? They were heavenly…Arianell infused them with her own special sweetness!
I love the little cast iron frying pan so much! Imagine being able to bake Hitty size goodies in it- amazing. You are the source of such delight!
Isn’t it the most adorable frying pan!? My oldest child found it somewhere in the southern US states about a decade ago! It is labeled Lodge USA LMS on the base, if that is any help finding one similar.
It’s delightful 🙂 How wonderful that your dear one found it for you in their travels- it makes it even more special!
ohhh my favorite..cinnamon buns! Love the cast iron skillet and the lovely Arianelle!!
We love them too, and especially when baked by a delightful little friend, in our most delightful frying pan!
Lovely little buns! I baked cinnamon buns yesterday too, of course 😉
Of Course! I am sure Aapo had a little taste!
