Mizzle at the beach
Gráinne went back to the sandy beach…
.
.
…it was grey, with mizzle…
.
.
…Gráinne was glad she brought her hat!
.
.
Someone has been digging for treasure…Gráinne might bring her shovel next time!
.
.
But look – Gráinne found a different kind of treasure chest!
.
.
Over the bridge…
.
.
…to another bit of exposed bedrock…
.
.
…then Gráinne whistled for Ocho and they walked home together!
.
.

My word, she certainly swashes some serious buckle! The hat is magnificent AND she has a parrot. I had no idea she was a true buccaneer!
She is named after a famous Irish pirate, so she thinks that makes her a truly bad scary girl! Wait till you see her cutlass!
❤
It was good to hear the story through the voice of an enchanted soul. It was so cool to learn the word mizzle. With drizzle and mizzle, there is no sizzle.
No, no sizzle today, unless it was drops of water on the woodstove when Gráinne shook out her coat upon returning home to the Hitty cupboard!
It’s always a treat to see Grainne. I’m not used to seeing her without her mighty cutlass. It’s good to put down our swords and be at peace.
Gráinne had her little dagger down her boot just in case, but it was not needed on this walk (despite the enormous pair of Great Pyrenees dogs she encountered). It was a peaceful walk…if a little damp.
When the title to today’s story came up, I thought…. ‘Mizzle?’ oooh Kjerstin must have carved a new Hitty! And as it was loading, I laughed during the ‘upload pause’ – Mizzle is a miserable misty drizzle, not a dear little Hitty, and sure enough…. intrepid Graine was swishing and swashing through the mizzle…. Brave soul! 😀
No new girls today…there will be another one, perhaps in January when the carving itch comes upon me again! Hopefully any new girls will not be the miserable mizzling, griping grizzling type, but if they are, I expect Jane and Mormor could help them to learn better humour!
Always a joy to see Grainee on one of her adventures. Her parrot is such a great “accessory!”.
We all love it when the Parrot comes out to play – he is such a spark of colour and also makes magnificent squawks! We couldn’t do without him, though the Hitty cats somewhat disagree…
