Tansy’s second 2018 visit to Windy Bay
On Tansy’s second visit to Windy Bay Watchmen Raven Tanu Xoya and Mary were joined by Walter…
.
.
…and Tansy met Raven Tanu Xoya’s new little Raven Puppet.
.
.
Raven carried them both around on the visitor’s tour… here they are learning about Culturally Modified Trees like this one which has had some bark stripped off it…
.
.
…and here they are climbing up a little snag…
.
.
They both looked into a hollow tree that had been burned…
.
.
…and this is what they saw inside the tree.
.
.
Tansy visited her favourite Hemlock branch…
.
.
…and learned about the Blinking House!
.
.
Mary described the Windy Bay Pole. Please watch the video embedded below for the story of the pole and its raising:
.
.
…and then Walter encouraged Raven Tanu Xoya to share one of her names.
.
.
Tansy and Raven Puppet were invited into a feather structure…
.
.
and now Raven Tanu Xoya, and Raven Puppet and Tansy Xoya are special friends forever.

Oh, I love it! Loved the video….having Native friends ourselves, and experiencing a bit of their culture, this really is heartwarming to me. Thank you so much. Yes, Tansy Xoya, Raven Tanu Xoya, and Raven Puppet do have a strong bond now. Their music is just so penetrating.
Isn’t it a great video! Tansy is so lucky to have been to Haida Gwaii, and learned so much from her trips!
Such a well made video…so much new information. thank you. And how lovely that Tansy has made such good friends with the Ravens.
Tansy was so pleased to be remembered, and hopes she will be able to meet up with Raven again!
