Cherry Blossoms
On a showery April day Henrietta lifted Gilly up…
.
.
…so she could perch in a sweet-scented cloud of lacy blossoms…
.
.
…then she sat herself down in a bower of flowers.
.
.
The girls walked home through the petal-strewn grass, but their hearts were still up with the cherry blossoms. What a beautiful gift from the cherry trees.
.
.
Spring breezes blowing
ephemeral loveliness
fallen, but not lost.
.
.
Clouds of pink snow
Adorn the cherry orchard
Too soon, it will melt.
Thank you for the lovely haiku!
Stunning photos. I love the colors of it all, the clothes, the words….ahhh, I am so blessed by reading the Quimper Hittys narratives!
It was a day for pink and lace! Henrietta and Gilly were glad!
