Beauty in the Garden February 12
This is the most beautiful corner of the garden today ❤

Almost 40 years ago I worked at Hampton Court Palace in England, surrounded by weighty history. The mini Irises were almost the very first harbingers of spring in the vast and wonderful gardens and grounds – I remember them being so encouraging and colourful after grey and chilly winters.

Yes, truly gorgeous and definitely harbingers of upcoming abundant beauty.
We are so glad to see the little beginnings…and Floradora is glad these irises are little so she can admire them close up!
One of my favourite flowers and such a bold, triumphant colour. A little bit blue, mostly purple, depending on the light.
The light was lovely at that moment…coming from the southwest and shining through the petals, it was so beautiful I grabbed a Hitty and went outside to try and record it – because you are right! The colours are changeable and fleeting.
glorious.
We thought so too, and don’t quite know why I am every year surprised at how beautiful they are from close up.
lovely flowers and a lovely HItty….so nic e to spring is coming to your garden
