Cinnamon Buns Today!
Floradora weighed the flour and spices…
.
.
…stirred them up with the sugar, to which was added the warm water, butter, milk and yeast.
.
.
The Hittys usually stay out of the way while the human’s hands are sticky…but she enjoyed painting the resulting rolls with egg wash…
.
.
…and reaching into the Pearl Sugar…
.
.
…and flinging it on artistically!
.
.
The end result was not conventionally beautiful as it oozed all over the little frying pan and part way out…
.
.
But hey…they taste pretty good – actually the Hittys favourite photographer said they taste better than any Cinnamon Bun he has ever purchased! Happy Cinnamon Bun Day!!
This is a celebration beloved of the Quimper Hittys, and also marked annually in Sweden and parts of Finland!

Thanks for sharing SWEET JOY today. Do you freeze the extra for later enjoyment? You had a lovely array of yeasty, sweet breads ~ a la Floradora’s happy helping hands. Becky J
We did not freeze any! Floradora and I shared them, to a highly appreciative audience!
Salivating slightly here… cinnomon buns are a huge favourite, but I’m not allowed many (any!)
We like this recipe a lot – not too overly sticky or sweet…it is one of our favourites too, people keep saying I shouldn’t feel restricted to making them only on October 4th!
they look delicious!!! Makes me wish I lived next door and could drop by for a cuppa and a bun!!
How I wish that too! Wouldn’t it be fun? The Country Hittys could come too, and the Quimper Hittys would be overjoyed!
I adore cinnamon buns
