Scrap Happy Christmas fabric

Christmas Treats

A Hitty friend gave me this scrap of Christmas fabric…

Keyhole

…which I am making into new outfits…

.

.

Pinning

…for Opal and Agathe, who are tired of wearing their summer frocks!

The patterns are slightly different, though will be made with the same fabric.

Hedgepig loaned some quills.

too long!

The bodices fit nicely, but the skirts were a little too long…

Opal helps

…so Opal helped Agathe hem her dress…

Agathe helps

…and Agathe helped Opal…

Hungry work!

and then they both celebrated by wearing their new frocks while slurping a seasonal treat!

ScrapHappy is a group of bloggers (links below) who post monthly about using up scraps! Any genuine scraps are allowed – no new materials. Blog posts are published on the 15th of the month, and it is always a treat to see what ingenious things people are doing with bits and pieces saved from the scrap heaps! If you think you’d like to join the group, contact Kate or Gun who devised and run it – their blogs are the first two links below:

  1. Lovely, seasonal dresses! You ScrapHappy ladies always produce lovely things.

This brought back memories of standing on a stool for what seemed like an age, having my mother and grandmother arguing over they suitable length for a party dress I thought too frilly for a party I didn’t want to attend! I never was a party lover, except for dolls’ tea parties, of course!

    • I remember that too, almost exactly… standing on a chair and their mouths bristling with pins while they discussed where to stick them!! My Hittys have the kind of party I like – small and quiet!

  2. Ah Kjerstin, for me, this is another glorious session of Scrap Happy 15th Day of the Month with you and some of the QHs. Your use of that gifted fabric has turned out such charming little dresses for the block twins, Agathe and Opal. The seasonal treat at the end is a luscious looking way to help celebrate this time of year. Becky J
