Review

A quick review of the plot…this afternoon we are going to the Opera!

Some neighbourhood friends invited me to accompany them to the matinée performance of Mozart’s Marriage of Figaro!!!

Constance and I are excited because we haven’t been to the opera since spring 2020,  just before the Covid pandemic lockdown.  We are also a bit pensive because we used to go with our dear old elderly relative who died last year.

This will be different, but we are looking forward to it!

  1. Oh! I’m so glad that you are able to get back to an opera. Within the last couple whatever, I was wondering if you’d been having any chances to go to hear and see one. I trust that you and Constance had a wonderful time together with your friend and am sorry the elderly relative is not there to accompany you. Ahhh….Becky J

    • What with covid, and dealing with the after-effects of the death of my dear old relative, this was the first time I’ve been able to go “out” to the opera…I do listen to Saturday Afternoon at the Opera on the radio though, not quite the same but enjoyable.

    • Thank you nia, I know you love different music too! I wish I had a fancy dress like this too, but meanwhile Constance enjoyed being in my pocket, and all dressed up for the opera! Did you know we bought her coral beads in Istanbul?! They have faded a lot but they are still the same beads.

      • Exactly, dear Hitty Lady, I love music all kind… How nice memories there from İstanbul, and you know I wished to be here with you when you visited İstanbul. Thank you, have a nice day, love and hugs, nia

  2. I’ve been at a fair all weekend with my shinies, and one of the particular joys this year was that the flow of visitors was gentle enough that I could chat. Lots of people creating their own little miniatures, which means I’ve been able to share your blog with them. More joy for the Exeter contingent 😃💜

  3. It was very enjoyable despite a few pangs. The Marriage of Figaro can’t help but make you laugh if it is done at all well (which it was!). Even the friend who had never been to the opera before enjoyed herself!
