Tea in the Garden
Hitty Freddie is visiting from Ontario – Floradora went with her and the humans to the famous Butchart gardens…
.
.
…where they wandered about for hours, enjoying all the gorgeous plantings…
.
.
…burying their noses in the flowers where they could…
.
.
…and even climbed up into the Sweet Peas!
.
.
It was a hot day so they very much admired the cooling fountains (and wished they could jump in)…
.
.
…and lingered in the shady woods…
.
.
…until they spotted a dragon emerging from a cave!
.
.
After their exertions, they followed the humans into the tea house…
.
.
…and got to work on the cake stand offerings.first the savoury…
.
.
…then the ginger scones with jam and cream.
.
.
The goddess Artemis was happy to entertain the Hittys while the humans finished their tea…
.
.
…though we were all too full to eat the delicious desserts…
.
.
…but fortunately the tea shop provided little boxes to pack up the leftover cakes!
.
.
What a fun outing! Thanks to our Hitty friend for the treat!

That looks a lovely place to visit and what a posh tea room! Proper afternoon tea with a tablecloth!
It was a lovely visit, and a nice treat to go out to a famous garden. The tea was delicious! lovely little sandwiches and cakes – mmm!
Mmmm, yes, what a treat that you all participated in. Without a doubt, I felt like I was right there enjoying it all with you. It was all so pleasant.
The rafts and rafts of flowers was a little overwhelming after a bit – we were so glad to stop for a refreshing tea!
What a wonderful outing! Everything so beautiful and yummy!
The Gardens gave us a little pamphlet of flower identification to carry around, it was so nice to look at the flowers and be able to find out what they were! The tea was fabulous!
wonderful outing, love the dragon cave. Tea at the garden is a great treat.
It was a treat! I haven’t been to the gardens for many years, and had never had tea there.
oh my, what a wonderful way to spend a day…gorgeous flowers, happy Hittys and delicious treats! I am quite envious but very happy for you and your visitors.
It was a great expedition…the flower settings were mostly enormous – not Hitty-scale, extensive and very colourful – it takes a couple of hours to see all of the garden layout, even without the tea – and the tea was delicious and worth lingering over!
Ginger scones sounds wonderful! Was it simply ground ginger in the mix, or did they have chunks of crystallised ginger in them?
They were beautiful chunks of spicy candied ginger – mmmm. A perfect platform for the jam and cream! So decadent and delicious!
😛
Beautiful gardens and the sweets look delicious!
They were! The tea was very generous, I was glad that I arrived there hungry!
