…in the garden and on the table…a neighbour is away and we are taking care of her garden – she was happy for us to pick and jam the fruit on her red currant bushes! M-m-m-m-m-m…
It was a summer-sunshiny day, and although we can barely remember the days of fog and rain, our little pots of jam will help us remember these lovely times.
Beautiful photographic story as always fascinating me. The red currant jam seems so nice and delicious, I haven’t seen in here red currant… Thank you dear Hitty Lady, Love, nia
I miss being able to grow some fruits. Yes, I can grow mangos, passionfruit and bananas, but I miss rhubarb, raspberries and gooseberries. I shall enjoy your garden produce remotely!
I wish my gooseberries, were more enthusiastic about producing a crop for us here…sigh. But we will keep trying, at least I know the climate is amenable. Berry season is definitely my favourite part of the year!
Have you ever tried white currants?

I’ve not come across them, but if our friends or relations ever appear bearing white currants, we’d be happy to try them out!
Constance, you’re looking very industrious, the flowers outside are looking marvelously BEAUTIFUL!, and the currant jam glows with summer sunshine.

We were lucky when we lived in England, and had a garden with red currants, black currants and gooseberries – yum!
The birds get all my redcurrants as soon as they show signs of colour – another eeason to get a fruit cage!
These bushes were groaning with berries – perhaps Canadian birds are uneducated about the delicious flavour and savour of red currants!?
I have just passed mine on the way to pick raspberries and there are some ripe ones! I shall pick them this afternoon!
I believe I can nearly smell that lovely jam. The photos are wonderful….you are a truly good neighbor!
I was glad to help with the picking (and I kept a jar for myself!)
