Quimper Hittys 
Your garden looks so green and lush. Mine was neglected for a crucial 6 weeks so now I’m spending our dry days weeding and pruning and bagging everything to go to the compost.
It was a strange summer weatherwise – I had given up on the beans, but they surprised me!
It’s so heartening to see you and the Hittys make use of all that comes your way. Lovely to see the little ladies today.

Thank you very much, nia! Autumn is a season of poignant beauty here. The little Hittys are happy as usual though, it does my heart good to see how they accept it.
I grow climbing French beans rather than runners but both are generous. My quince doesn’t fruit!
French beans next year perhaps! I do like these plants though, for their pretty flowers as well as their tasty beans!
Mine are climbing not dwarf and apart from flower colour look just like runner bean plants. I find the beans less likely to be stringy or get that ‘toe nail’ layer if left a bit long before picking.
