National Black Cat Day 2024
The Quimper Hittys and humans are celebrating Black Cat Day…
.
.
The humans have two Black Cats in the family – Blueberry is two, a pretty boy with a sinuous and expressive tail…and Siyah is our plump “Queen of the household”.
.
.
They both like to help in the garden – Blueberry helps with the Good King Henry harvest…
.
.
…and Siyah likes to guard this corner of the garden….
.
.
The wisteria pot is a favourite napping spot on fine days…
.
.
…and the windowsill cat nest is for rainy afternoons.
.
.
Both the cats are curious, and like to help with Hitty projects.
.

October 27th is National Black Cat Day…but we think every day is a good day to appreciate black cats!

I told my black (well with a few white bits) cat Connor it was his day and he purred. Apparently black cats are hard for the shelters to rehome but I think they are lovely.
I hope Connor had a happy day! Our two did, Blueberry appreciated the extra pets, and Siyah looked down her nose, but graciously accepted our affection. These two are our first black ones, we just collected Siyah from the SPCA because she was the one available… Blueberry was a farm kitten, also the last one in the littler to be adopted. We love them both!
great pictures – both kitties and Hittys.
Thanks! Our cats are part of our family, both the human’s and Hitty’s!
Congratulations for all of Them, I love Cats, so much! In these photographs I loved something too, the white apron with black cat embroidery! So beautiful, Thank you, Love and Hugs to you All, nia
Thank you nia… I made the apron from an embroidered handkerchief, it was perfect for the Hittys! We love our cats, they are good company, and it is really nice to share our home with them. So relaxing to see them curled up asleep in their little cat nests; so lovely to hear them purr; beautiful to watch them; soft to pet them (when they allow!!)
Wonderful way to celebrate your “large” and tiny Black Kitties!
Thanks! We jump on any excuse to celebrate our favourite things…including our big and small cats!
I know just how much help cats can be with Hitty projects. Bless their little hearts. your girls are very patient with their feline companions. so happy to see well loved cats.
It is possible to do without the help of cats, but much less amusing!
I love the pinafore/apron – brilliant!
Thanks! We love it too!
