Ocelot Flower
A friend bought some little bulbs and gave me half! Vanilla helped to plant them…
.
.
…she helped choose a spot where the flowers would be visible when they bloom in late summer…
.
.
…then she dug a deep hole and plopped in a bulb…
.
.
…and helped stamp down the soil…
.
.
…and last, we put in some stakes so we would remember where they are (and hopefully not plant things on top of them)!
These are native to central America but supposedly hardy in our zone…they are called Ocēlōxōchitl in the Aztec language – “Ocelot flower”. We love the name!
