Garden and Patchwork
Floradora, Henrietta and Vanilla went on a visit to to the house of a relative, where they spent some time in one of their favourite gardens…
.
.
…and also collected some more fabrics for quilt and Hitty clothing projects.
.
.
...Vanilla found a little cluster of Cyclamen (which usually bloom in the autumn!)…
.
.
…and she admired a pretty patchwork block made up into a pink and purple eight-pointed star!
.
.
Henrietta was enchanted by the crocus…
.
.
…and she loved the flowery yellow eight-pointed star!
.
.
Floradora thought crunching along in the brown Chestnut leaves was so much fun…
.
.
…and she liked the flying geese best!
.
.
It was a lovely spring morning, and we enjoyed the outing!
The patchwork blocks were made by a relative who has gone into care; they and the fabrics were given to us by her spouse.
We hope to add the patchwork blocks to a set that can live at our relative’s new residence, where they can provide conversation, and she can admire her earlier work, and arrange them in patterns if she is in the mood.
It feels a bit sad, but we want to do something to help make her transition to residential care easier if we can.

Your thoughtfulness is exemplary.
Thank you…we hope our relative will like our plan!
Beautiful Fabrics and the sun and flowers were picture perfect. Praying your relative receives good care. It’s difficult to leave your home and adjust to a health care facility…but after awhile many people end up happy to be there and are relieved to receive the care they need.
We know that this is a good place for our relative, though it cost some pangs to reach this decision. She appears to be happier than anyone expected, which is very relieving!
Oh, big big hugs…. to you and your relative and her spouse. You make the world a better place! ❤
Thanks so much, it is a big step, and all new beginnings consume energy. It is going well so far!
💕💕💕
Thanks you so much!
those small, personal touches from “home” make a big difference. Blessings to you all.
That was my hope – it will be a good project to work on and hopefully a satisfying one for her too…thank you.
How kind to think of helping her adjust with the help of her own lovely handwork. The girls area breath of fresh air as always. Love the flowered coat that Henrietta is wearing.
A lovely contemplative adventure. I enjoyed your finds.
Thank you – it was a sweet day, with lovely flowers and fabrics and thoughts and girls.
