Heart of Hitty clothing
Malarkey helped a lot with the sewing and fitting of pantalettes and dresses for the Heart of Hitty event held in Stockbridge MA last month. All the dolls were dressed in clothing made by the Quimper Hitty Distinctive Fine Stitching establishment.
The outfit was inspired by an 1830 dress and pantalettes with straps from the Metropolitan Museum: Accession Number 2009.300.2324 a, b.
We used fabric in a reproduction print from approximately that time period, produced by Liberty in conjunction with a Victoria and Albert Museum exhibition of quilts: Accession Number of the quilt is T340-1977.

The contents of the trunk had shifted around during the long journey from the East Coast of the US to the West Coast of Canada, but Shenanigan dug around in it until she found her gift for Malarkey…

…and Malarkey wore her beautiful new necklace to a “welcome Shenanigan tea” (including sweeties and cake!).

Quimper Hittys 
What lovely outfits you made for the Stockbridge event! And, what a fine seamstress you are. Your charming new doll is a beautiful addition to the Quimper Hitty household. Thank you for sharing all of the doings.
Aw thanks! We loved working on this project and are so glad to see that the other participants appreciated and enjoyed their sweet dolls in their outfits. I had so much fun unpacking Shenanigan and all her “stuff”!

Those pantalettes with the white straps and bib, then patterned main part are absolutely lovely! Well done sewing them all by hand – you are an inspiration to me.
The Quimper Hittys and I thank you! The pattern had to be adjusted for the diminutive stature of the recipients, and we had to jettison some of the details, but I think the result is good!
