Lap of Lavender
Coriander loves our French Lavender bush….
.
.
…bees love it too!
.
.
She gathered a lap of lavender…
.
.
…while the human gathered many bunches and hung them upside down…
.
.
…making the house smell absolutely heavenly.
.
.
Fortunately we have English Lavender too…
.
.
…so we can put the right blooms into our lavender jar!
.
.
We love lavender – in laps, in jars, hanging in the house, and out in the garden!

I love Hittys for a long time now, discovered Quimper Hittys 2012? Joined a doll club, have had 4 Hitty dolls. FIrst by Gail Wilson 2014, two wood carved dolls by unknown person in Jacksonville, and last a kit to make a Hitty from Gail Wilson. Now all have gone to little girls who love them along with the Hitty book. I am now 89 and recently remembered about your blog. Thank you so much, for sharing all the littlle dolls who celebrate Hitty. I want another hitty. My first Hitty went every where, had her own room and shared adventures with a gift doll from Alaska, same size except a fur coat.
Was a Master gardener for 18 years and we had a extension lavender display garden in Medford Oregon for Herb Society. I only garden now in pots. All three of my lavenders are in bloom now. I just joinedto receive the blog and look for it now. Joy for me. And i can feel your joy too. Can you reccomend someone who could make me a Hitty? Thank you. CORA LEE, candllee1937@icloud.com.
Lovely to hear from you! I love Hitty so much, I don’t know where I would be without their quirky perspective on the world! I have sent you an email ❤
How wonderful! I actually transfered some lavender plants to their new home today. I started them from seeds this spring. They are still small, but I think they will do better in the ground.
Oh good luck with your lavenders! I just love the clouds of heavenly lavender scent in the rooms where the bunches are drying!
Oh, your home must smell out of this world right now! Coriander looks perfect in her summer whites.
I remember the wonderful scent of drying lavender when I had three bushes in exactly the right spot. They absolutely thrived. Can’t grow it now, despite same amount of fierce sunshine, due to an overzealous automated sprinkler system 😑 … but maybe the right variety would be happy in pots??
Drat about the zealous sprinkler, but I am sure the rest of the garden appreciates it…a flowerpot lavender bush might be just the thing!!
Wish I could walk into your house to see and smell the gorgeous lavender you and Coriander have gathered.
I wish I could send you some of our lavender! So nice to see you here again!
Thank you! This was most unexpected and trust it keeps up. Glad to be back.
I have bought many lavender plants and they have all died! Such a shame as they are delightful.
Oh that’s too bad. we seem to be in a zone that lavender likes, we are very lucky!
I can imagine the wonderful scent! I want to plant some lavender next year when I start to build my garden at my new house 🙂
It’s so nice to walk through the wafts of Lavender as it dries. We have plans for it once it dries out.
