Scrap Happy October Scraps
Happy ScrapHappy Day!
ScrapHappy Day is the 15th of the month, when a group of bloggers each post a blog about using up their scraps! Any material of genuine scrap status is allowed: I have used scraps of wood; yarn; and fabric. I’ve also seen posts about: scrap silver; polyethylene; paper; electronic equipment; metal; and I think just about everything!
This month I finished the lace on the shawl I have been knitting…

…the light and darker browns are handspun by my friend, I supplemented with dark red scrap yarn. It looks really nice, I think my friend will be pleased with our joint effort!

Here are some food scraps – dried orange peel…

…added (one half cup of dried peel per liter of white vinegar). The peel in this jar has been infusing for a week, and already smells orangey as well as vinegary. After ten days I will decant into small bottles and label – Orange infused cleaning concentrate… my contribution to this year’s advent calendar.

I love reading about the interesting and inspiring ideas that people are willing to share and the clever ways that so many bits and pieces have been saved from the scrap heaps!

That’s genius
That shawl is gorgeous! I make vinegar scented with peel too and it makes an excellent disinfectant cleaner.
