Inish Eile Wool-winding
Last weekend Tipsy and Coriander and I went to a fibre fair in the Cowichan Valley, they helped me pick up three skeins of Silk/Cotswold lamb yarn, and Tipsy came home with a small orange sweater!
.
.
The yarn came from Inish Eile Farm (Irish for other island farm) which we visited in June 2024 (click here to see what we did on that visit)…the farm has Cotswold sheep, two donkeys and an Irish Donkey Cart! The Quimper Hittys are still waiting for a proper donkey cart – our Welsh donkey is not enthusiastic about pulling them in a hay wain…

The girls helped me set up the swift, and naturally decided to twirl around on it while I was winding up the balls of yarn…
.
.
…Tipsy got dizzy…
.
.
…and fell off but made a soft enough landing in the unwound skeins…
.
.
…Coriander took charge of our first ball of yarn…
.
.
…the cat thinks he should be in charge of balls of yarn.
