Knotty By Nature

Lovely Greens.

Some of the Quimper Hittys went to their favourite fibre store.  Knotty By Nature is a nice cosy place to spend a stormy  November afternoon. KBN specialises in natural fibres, and offers classes in all kinds of fibre work. Today there was a class called “Meet the Gentle Wheel”.  The Quimper Hittys try not to cause distractions and go exploring in other parts of the store.  Perdita finds some mohair Bouclé to snuggle up to.

Stainless Steel and Silk.

Mary Ann finds it incredible that Stainless Steel and Silk can actually be made into knittable fibre.

The scraps basket.

There are a few pieces of Noro Lace in the scraps basket – fortunately Zipporah enjoys untangling knots.

  1. Hittys just seem to naturally fit into all types of circumstances and weather. Thanks for the warm, colorful, cozy and, always educational, tour around Knotty By Nature.

  2. What a lovely post. Stainless steel yarn? Yarn sounds like the perfect word for it.
I am not surprised at all that Zipporah can deal with knots – wasn’t she married to some guy with a humongous tangled beard in another existence?

  3. This so reminds me of growing up in Edmonton, both my mom and my grandma used to do a lot of work like this. What a wonderful post! Love the details and the great story that goes along with it all!

  4. We have never been to a fiber store. I can see my hittys getting lost in all that fiber and yarn. Quimper hittys sure are loving it. An afternoon in Knotty by Nature looks like a wonderful way for hittys to spend a stormy November day. The photograph of Zipporah untangling knots is really nice. She seems to be an expert at it.
