Icelandic Jólasveinar 9
Min has put her red boots out once again, leaving a special treat for the Yule Lad…In the morning she is delighted to find two lumps of lava – one red and one black – from the Eldfell volcano in Iceland! The cat thinks there must have been something pretty nice in the empty dish, and decides to follow the greasy trail…

The ninth Yule Lad to come is Bjúgnakrækir, the sausage-stealer who comes on December 20th! The cat has a second breakfast after catching up with him.
The Jólasveinar tradition is explained in the Icelandic Yule/Jól website here.

If only Min had been as curious as the cat, she might have seen the Yule Lad!
And if only the cat could talk!
I LOVE sausage!! Another wonderful installment in your running series here, truly a joy to take in and read!
So does Bjúgnakrækir…maybe you are related!
