Apple Pip in December
Pip finds a way to fend off the darkness of December.
The late December moon is pretty bright, but Jupiter (off centre at the top of the picture) still shines through the clouds and moonlight! Pip enjoys the show from an apple branch.

Love the lights and the birds! So cheery~like a party at night. Isn’t Pip cold, though?
That was the party nest alright…maybe the chirping and singing kept them warm.
I like Pip’s hat – it looks very warm. Though I too worry that it s/he might be chilly. Maybe a blanket of moss or lichen would help to keep the heat in?
Perhaps the birds cuddle up with Pip and fluff out their feathers…moss would probably help.
How wonderful, what a great way to fend of the darkness…love the last photo as well.
It has been a dark wet December, Pip is good to show us ways to enjoy the season!
What a beautiful photograph – – If it wasn’t so very cold out there, my hittys would love to keep Pip company, relax on the apple tree and watch the lights of nature shine on a cold winter night.
Pip would love to entertain your Hittys, but the little birdies are good company too – especially since the nest is near the bird feeder.
What a pleasure your picture is. I left the computer on and when I pressed it alive this morning, there was Pip to brighten my morning!
When I manage to capture a picture, Pip always appears curious and slightly surprised, but I think I saw Pip grinning in your direction just now.
