Perdita’s Walk Home
I usually have a Hitty in my pocket and it was Perdita’s turn to go to work with me today. We both really enjoy the 5 km walk home, especially on an evening as beautiful as this. We stopped several times – here she is taking a little rest on the path down from Moss Rock…

These deer have taken up residence in Ross Bay Cemetery – a young buck with velvet antlers, and a gentle doe in a nest of grass…

A lovely jungle of grass and Horsetails at the fringes of the beach…

When we get to the very last bit along the water we sit for a spell…if it is not cloudy we’ll come back here to watch the sun go down on the longest day of the year. Happy Summer Solstice (10:04 pm tonight) to our friends in the Northern Hemisphere, and Happy First Day of Winter to our friends south of the equator…we hope you all have a very lovely evening.

Kjerstin, That last photo is AMAZING!
Thank you! We are so lucky – it is a very pleasant spot, and less than five minutes from my front door.
Yes, the view of Perdita sitting by the shore is amazing!
Perdita seems to spend a lot of time gazing wistfully at the view – I am glad you liked the view of her gazing at the view.
Perdita may be wistful, but she is lovely. And good company I am sure on your walks as she does not mind sitting around contemplating the view, unlike one of two of her more bouncy sisters.
Each Hitty seems to have her own view of the world.
what a lovely place you live. Wonderful photos and Perdita is such a serene little wood person.
Thank you! Our weather is very flighty – today it is the rainy, windy stormy kind of loveliness, but Perdita is calmly enjoying the storm!
I agree, Perdita is very lovely. She makes a beautiful companion on a beautiful walk.
I like the way the Hittys seem to point out that beauty can be on a different scale than Humans usually notice.
Perdita seems to be a peaceful, calm hitty and she is so content to enjoy her walk and also enjoy the various sights nature has to offer……
We were so pleased that the deer consented to have their likenesses taken!
I agree that the sunset photo is spectacular! Perdita looks absolutley beautiful! And her dress fabric suits her perfectly!
Thank you! The sunset light is amazing….Perdita hasn’t taken off this dress since I made it – she claims it for her own, as it reminds her of her travels, and the colours suit her complexion.
How beautiful your surroundings are! Perdita is a very lucky Hitty to have joined in on your walk.
My poor girls are hibernating as I’m struggling with a variety of health problems and don’t have time between hospital trips to entertain them (or should that be ‘I don’t have time to be entertained by them?’
Oh dear, I am sorry to hear about your travails. Around here one of my Hittys or another can usually be found in a pocket or purse even under a pillow. When they are not actively entertaining me they keep quiet company. Take care.
What a wonderful way to wind down at the end of the day with a lovely companion to share Mother Nature’s Bounty. She has such a peaceful look of serenity on her face, and love her dress!
Perdita is very calm and does radiate an infectious serenity. I love her.
That portrait is amazing.
Thanks Ryan – Constance and I have been away in Finland, and are just catching up now…lots of twittering (of the small wooden kind) in the Hitty cupboard right now.
