2. Wine berries! They are so unusual in our area – nice for the HIttys to get some to eat. And for Constance to put her Finnish basket to such good use.

   • They are a pretty colour and a little sticky. Constance was happy to find sweet small berries for her basket, the rest of the Hittys were delighted to help eat them up!

3. Love her collecting basket. It’s hard to imagine working a basket that small.

   • I loved the collecting basket too – I am glad that I raced into Helsinki on the last day of the trip, and found the lady selling them…the weaver is really talented to make such small beautiful baskets…

4. they look like tiny black berries?? We do not have anything called wineberries in this area. As always Constance is a berry picking genius!! And I just love that basket. Are the wineberries tart or sweet?

   • The berries are a kind of wild raspberry from Japan, they are neither sweet nor tart – a little seedy and more beautiful than delicious if you ask me. Constance likes them, she says they are a civilised size for a Hitty.
