Eugene Onegin
Constance’s Russian friend was keen to show her how to brew a good cup of Russian Caravan tea in the new Samovar. It is the perfect cup of tea to accompany CBC’s Saturday Afternoon at the Opera, which is presenting Eugene Onegin by Tchaikovsky.

Rose is unenthusiastic about listening to the Opera.

She and Min would rather play with the little felt Russian doll that appeared in the Hitty Cupboard.

Wow! It seems like matryoshka dolls are popping up everywhere! How cool that the Quimpers now have one in their charge, and a cute baby at that!
It was a Christmas present – the Hittys were delighted!
I kept reading this Eugene, Oregon, and got all excited that you may be heading out this way!!! laura
It does look like Eugene Oregon! Perhaps I should have used the Russian word for Eugene – Yevgeny – instead!
Constance’s samovar reminded me that I have a tiny samovar that the Bonsai Hittys could be using this winter. I’ll have to get it out and see if Mrs. Olive Pitt knows how to make Russian tea!
Oh yes – Ask Olive…Constance and I had tea from a Samovar when we were in Finland last summer – and we found our Samovar there! Is yours smaller?
Cute little matryoshka doll – Looks so pretty in the little stroller with Rose, who is just darling !!!
She is cute! A thoughtful friend gave her to us, the Quimper Hittys are so grateful!
That samovar is so impressive!! Is Caravan tea different in taste from …say English Breakfast tea?? Does
one drink it with lemon or milk or our favorite…sugar!! I had to chuckle at Rose and Min ducking out on the
opera to play dolls. Great photos!!
Russian Caravan tea is very strong and smoky, most excellent with sugar!
I love the samovar! Where did you get it?
The Russian felt baby is cute too!
Constance and I picked up the samovar in Helsinki last summer! The baby matryoshka is totally adorable, and it has definitely been adopted by a cheerful adoring Hitty family!.
