Baking Scones
Constance and Hattie are baking scones…
They have managed to make perfect Hitty scones…
.
.
…and perfect Human scones.
.
.
They have changed into their Liberty print frocks for a lovely afternoon tea.
.
These are Cream Scones based on a recipe from Jesse Z Cool’s book Breakfast in Bed…The Hittys and I made a few changes because we didn’t have all the ingredients in the original recipe.
We changed it by using dried chopped blueberries instead of Apricots, no added salt, and for the glaze, used only 1 Tablespoon of sugar, and unsalted butter.
The Hitty’s wee scones were cooked for 10 minutes!
Everyone said they were delicious!

I’m jealous of their scones. I would love a scone hot out of the oven right now!
I think you better go to Allison’s Catfish, then I’ll be jealous and we would be even!
I can’t decide which I like the most…those lovely Liberty print frocks, that wonderful tea set, the yummy scones or the ever delightful Constance and Hattie. I give up…I love the whole photo!!! Thanks for the recipe link. I grew up on a farm, milk cow, chickens etc. and in my teens I did most of the cooking and loved to make scones. Happy memories!
You are welcome! We love scones too…thanks to Susan for the link! My family wants me to throw out my old recipe and only make these from now on!
I love the shape!
We like the taste!
Very British – Scones and afternoon hot tea with milk and sugar – just perfect !!!!!
The Hittys wished for clotted cream, but they did have jam!
Some of the best scones that I have ever tasted – yum.
They were excellent! Time to make them again I think!
