Fun with Noro Lace

Rose knitting again

Rose knitting again

We liked the way Silk Halo yarn from Mont Tricot looked after knitting it into cosy shawls!  The Lonely Tree pattern seemed to work, so we splurged on an entire ball of Noro Lace yarn, from  Knotty by Nature .  Rose has been working on her new knitting project… Shawls for All!

Such pretty yarn!

Such pretty yarn!

The colours in Noro Lace yarn make beautiful variegated Hitty sized shawls…

  1. The Country Hittys are in awe of you and Rose! They are also quite annoyed that their person does not knit.
These really are lovely, the pattern and that variegated wool….just beautiful. The girls will look so fancy wearinig them on a cool day. We also love Roses comfy chair!!

  2. Ohlala!!!!!! What beautiful shawls!!!!! Superb work and wonderful wool. Quimper Hittys will be warm and elegant. Person here has to get going on the knitting! But it’ll have to wait till September…too busy otherwise right now. Don’t think I’ll get similar results though….my girls will have to make do. Indeed, beautiful chair!!!!

    • September is a good time to knit…cool enough in the evenings for the shawls to be used right away. Rose is a bit sad to have to put them all away until the cooler weather.

    • That particular chair is from the WIN shop on Cook St…I am always on the lookout. It is funny how the eye becomes attuned for little things. Hittys are slightly larger than the typical dollhouse dolls, so it is always a bit of a challenge.

  3. Hitty Knitter has done a really beautiful job with that Noro wool! Those are lovely shawls 🙂

My knitters are very impressed and Gisella has asked me to get out the ball of Noro lace weight Sekku. We had always found it difficult to imagine what to use it for. Too thin for socks..

love from the Wren Cottage Hittys 🙂
