Feast of St James
Patience, Mary Ann and Hattie baked a special cake for the Peregrina in the family!

Today is the feast day of St James, and all of the Quimper Hittys agree that any day that has the word Feast in it is a day worth celebrating properly, in this case, with Tarta de Santiago!

Constance is very touched, and shows the girls her journal from the pilgrimage...

.
.
…and she remembers both the sloughs of despond and the delectable mountains.

Good memories for Constance! Not many Hittys can count the 800km trek in their accomplishments!
Constance was a great traveller! And her little journal was just the right size to carry for 800 km!
Lovely remembrance.
Constance’s sisters were very happy to help bake the lovely and delicious Tarta, which is filled with good things like citrus peel and ground almonds!
Oh, my gosh! How long did you take to do the Camino? How amazing!!
Definitely on my list!
Five weeks at about 20 km per day…it was a never-to-be-forgotten journey!
Your Picassa file and additional reading I did…fascinating. And to think you and Constance undertook this trek.
The Country Hittys and I stand in awe!! Also we loved Constance’s medieval outfit. Perfection as always.
Thank you again for fun and education….and some great photos.
We are so glad we made the pilgrimage, and it is nice to remember and reflect on it once in a while.
Oh yes any day with the name Feast in it must be a day worth celebrating. What a lovely surprise for Constance.
And the cake is delicious!
