Nice Buns!
Agathe and Opal are helping to celebrate an important culinary Holiday – it is National Cinnamon Bun Day in Sweden today…
Our Swedish Baking cookbook has our favourite recipe…
The girls are pleased to see the yeast bubbling…

…and can’t resist checking on the rising dough!

Hoorah the dough has risen!!!

A little beaten egg glaze, and a little pearl sugar sprinkled on the top!

The result is enough to share and quite delicious!!

Very nice buns, indeed! I expect they won’t last long.
A hungry horde appeared just as I took them out of the oven – nothing but crumbs left in that pan now!
Oh, they are SO CUTE checking under the towel!!!
The Quimper Hittys are convinced that a little optimistic checking is beneficial to all kinds of baking except when soufflé is involved.
Yummy cinnamon buns! And such industrious girls. The make excellent housemates.
Industrious, generous and fun to have around – the best kind of housemate! They even cleaned up!
Such luscious looking photos…and a recipe too! Thanks for more QH fun.
You are welcome! We love baking, and will leap on any excuse!!
Oh my goodness, the girls have started packing!!!! They want to migrate West!!!!!
They are welcome to visit at any time, and we’ll bake treats with them – but I think you have a wonderful bakery in your town!
They look yummy! I’m always glad when I see the end product, though…..it makes me quite nervous when I see you girls leaning over large bowls of batter, cae mix or dough. I do hope you canswim? Or is there a big Person to fish you out if you should slip in?
Enjoy!
Love,
Roberta Not-Quite-Hitty xx
Visions of Maurice Sendak’s “In The Night Kitchen”…
We do have several Hitty-sized bathtubs, should any unfortunate dough-related events occur!!!
Well goodness , every picture is so darling I could not choose a favorite altho the one of them peeking at the dough and the one sharing their HItty size iron skillet of goodness are pretty special. Another lovely episode in the life of your girls!
🙂
We love baking, and love it when you enjoy reading about our culinary adventures!
It’s just beginning to turn cool in the mornings and evenings here in GA. Those great buns look awfully tempting. I may have to try them soon. Such a previous picture of the girls peeking under the towel! Thanks for your delightful stories and wonderful photos!

You are welcome! We have such fun here, it seems a shame not to share it… 🙂
Of course, “previous” in my post was supposed to be “precious”! Taking four kittens to be stayed and neutered this morning was an ordeal for us this morning. Good thing that none of the Hitty snuck into one of the carriers. Those kittens would have eaten them, with all the spittin’ and howling going on.
Well best of luck with the kittens! I hope they are calmer afterwards. I am sure the Hittys are glad you left them out of this particular adventure!
