  1. Simply delightful!! What a fun bunch of houses. They are just perfect! Love the girls working on them and love the finished products. Very nice gingerbread adventure. Thank you for sharing the fun with us.

  2. Wonderful village! So cute and am impressed that it was from scratch. Looks like Hittys were a big help. We have been known to hot glue the houses together before decorating as could not get them to hold!

    • We like to eat the houses afterward, so we use royal icing – 3 cups icing sugar, 2 teaspoons lemon juice and 2 egg whites. It dries very fast, but you have to get just the right consistency – too runny and the sides of the houses fall down, and too thick and they won’t stick. Just a few drops more of lemon juice or water – literally a drop or two at a time if it is thick…

    • The wooden girls were happy to see the project through! It has to be said that some of the small participants were very excited, and some of them may have ingested slightly more candy than was good for them…
