Gonzales Hill Evening
On another lovely evening Opal and Agathe accompanied the human and her favourite photographer on a post-prandial jaunt up Gonzales Hill.
On the way up the girls found what looked like giant-sized dandelions, but are perhaps salsify plants….
…and continuing up the trail…
…Agathe met a beautiful little insect, but it wasn’t interested in playing.
They scrambled around in the grass for a while…
…avoided the noisy and somewhat alarming crows who were gathering for the night…
…and made it to the top of the hill, which is crowned with the Gonzales Hill Observatory, seismological centre and weather station…
…and from which there is a terrific view.

It was a lovely evening for a walk, all the more so with such delightful companions.
Thanks for suggesting this lovely stroll – we all enjoyed it!
Oh, how gorgeous! Thank you for sharing this lovely perambulation!
You are welcome – we thought it was a pretty gorgeous evening too!
Post-prandial, salsify, observatory, pretty hats, dresses and dolls…all things to crow about…lovely jaunt.
We think Salsify is a great word! We wonder if it’s root really tastes like oysters…hmmmm
more great photos!! The Quimper HItty photographer is such an artist with that lens. Here in MO we call that plant Goats Beard…and it is indeed of the salsify family. The girls are a delight as always.
We always like it when the favourite photographer captures the girls in their glorious fun. I took most of the pictures on this jaunt, but he took the pictures with the Salsify/Goatsbeard, and the Observatory. He was also very useful at herding the butterfly into range for Agathe to get her picture taken with it!
the girls are so pretty in their new dresses and the hats are a perfect addition to their summer outfits. Lovely evening.
Thank you – the girls are requesting buttons instead of pins to hold their clothes closed, but I have told them it is a well-known doll-clothes fastening tradition to use pins.
So many fun adventures at the Quimper house.
Every little expedition is fun for us!
