Fish and Chips
Every so often, we take a little trip to Barb’s Fish and Chips over at Fisherman’s Wharf. Hattie brought her life preserver just in case…
…because the way you get there is by Water Taxi…
The little water taxis bob around in the harbour, and stay out of the float plane runways (float ways?).
It was lovely and breezy on the water – a refreshing antidote to the heatwave…The water taxi stopped at a hotel and a brew pub before arriving at the colourful and busy Fisherman’s Wharf dock with all the different food stands.
By keeping a gimlet eye open, we managed to score a table in the shade, and persevered in the line-up to get a piece of Halibut, some chips, and a wee coleslaw for lunch along with delicious homemade, unsweetened iced tea.
…and a kind companion provided dessert!!

What a pleasant outing!!!! Fish and chips look yummy and the way to get there….delightful!!!! What a wonderful life the Quimper Hittys lead!!!!
We are glad of our colleagues who have summer birthdays – it is a great excuse for a mid-week jaunt!
What a refreshing fun time you must have had! Glad Hattie was able to come along for the outing too. A Hitty doll coming along always makes for a broader perspective.
We are so totally unused to the heat here, it was a relief to get onto the water for a short while…Hittys do always encourage alternate and usually interesting points of view!
What a fun adventure! I’m so glad that Hatty didn’t need to use her life preserver!
Me too, although if she thought about it for a minute, she’d remember that she is a Wooden doll, and buoyant therefore!
Definitely a great way to eat fish! What a fun outing for all concerned. Going by water taxi seems so exotic to the Country Hittys and their human.
it is fun to go by water taxi – one feels in a separate reality temporarily!
What a wonderful way to go get fish and chips. Hattie looks pleased with her adventure.
It was fun!
one of my favorite local jaunts and grandson’s too, all for perfect fish and chips. Hattie looks like she might want to go again.
Hattie loved it! we’ll definitely be back!
What a delightful way to get fish and chips. The little doughnut looks very appetising as well!
It was a delightful expedition! The little doughnut was delicious (according to Hattie)!!!
