Anna Inlet Plants
The plants of Anna Inlet were varied and interesting. Tansy liked this wee Spruce tree, it will need to increase in age, girth and height to become be one of the dominant trees of the mature forest on Haida Gwaii.
…but the deer will keep this little salal plant from becoming an impenetrable hedge…
…Tansy did find a mature crop of beach asparagus (which by the way is delicious steamed or pickled)!
…She had a bit of trouble thrashing her way through the beach grass…
.
…but she was at the right level to spot this pretty Springbank Clover flower!

The creek was wide and deep – Tansy was glad of this handy stump to rest in half way across!
What a beautiful place to stop for a morning!

What an amazing adventure Tansy is having! And I am learning much about plants I have never before seen. Thanks you Tansy and Favorite Photographer!
We are particularly fond of Beach Asparagus, which can be found on (and collected from) quiet intertidal beaches here in the Pacific Northwest!
Yes, thank you. Just looked up where Haida Gwaii is located. Having done that, it made it more entrancing to see all of that flora that seems to be abundant there.
Haida Gwaii has a fascinating human and natural history! It is great that Tansy and the favourite photographer get to see and experience and help interpret it!
Goodness these photos may be some of my very favorite… that beach asparagus looks like the “real” thing..how interesting. The pic of Tansy in the stump…great. Always a joy to take a stroll with the Quimper HIttys!
That stump was in a very good resting spot for someone’s little legs, which were tired after thrashing through the grass!
I love Tansy’s perambulations in Nature- thank you and her Favorite Photographer for taking the time to notice and share this loveliness with us!! Most appreciated!
The world is a fascinating place and we find that Hittys are great encouragers! Tansy hopes to hear about Tennie’s adventures some day!!
