Workshop
On her recent trip to Haida Gwaii, Tansy stopped at the home of friends, who are both artists working out of their home and also have a little shop…click here for their web page
…she was lucky and got to wander around the workshop while the humans had dinner.
So many interesting tools – for pinching and cutting…
…and scraping and scratching…
… a stout jeweler’s press.
Tansy examined the shiny offcuts in the scrap bucket.
.
.
…and she thought it was interesting to see a bracelet while the design is being carved before it is bent into shape
Tansy was amazed that the workshop is actually rather compact in human terms!

Tansy’s favourite photographer bought a beautiful gift for the Quimper Hitty human, and Tansy carried it home from Haida Gwaii
Eagles!

What a gorgeous bracelet, and how wonderful to be able to take a little tour of the silversmith’s beautiful shop. Thank you Tansy and Favorite Photographer for sharing these delightful photos with us!
It is a gorgeous bracelet, and it was a complete surprise! Tansy helped her favourite photographer order it on the way out and collect it on the way home!
Gorgeous metal work…and yes, thank you Tansy and fav photogrphr as well as Hitty human for bringing us these fine Haida Gwaii experiences.
Tansy is back home and resting up for the next jaunt…we like blogging about her experiences, as it makes us feel almost like we were there too! Chatting with the photographer gets lots of stories bubbling up!
the cross hatching on your bracelet is very fine indeed, enjoy wearing it. Love seeing workshops and tools. There will be lots of talking in the Hitty cupboard tonight.
Indeed, the cupboard is rarely quiet, especially when one of the prodigal Hittys returns home with Stories!!! Tom Greene does amazing cross-hatching!
oh what a nice chapter in Tansy’s journey and what a great surprise for the Quimper human!! The Quimper photographer has great taste as well as great photography talents. I enjoyed the website of the artists. Thanks!
You are very welcome. The Bracelet was a complete and wonderful surprise, and was in remembrance of a special occasion 30 years ago!!
Thanks, Tansy, for the glimpse into another’s workshop. It’s pleasure to see the beautiful outcome of an artist’s labor, and Tansy wears it well.
I love to see the tools of the trade of an expert – and the spectacular results!
What a lovely bracelet and how kind of Tansy for carrying it home. It is beautiful
Thanks – we were very surprised and delighted! It is a very special special occasion bracelet!
oh, but that’s some beautiful engraving. Thank you for sending me the link.
You are very welcome! We love the Eagle bracelet, and all Tommy’s work!
