On Wednesdays a little fruit and vegetable market appears on the sidewalk near where we are staying…everything is fresh and plentiful, and very beautiful…shoppers from nearby apartments can look things over and choose the ones they want. Constance and Gracia were happy to help.
the fruit was in big plastic bins and luckily we had a granny cart and two bags, because we examined and purchased lots of fruit.
Gracia stood in the Pitahaya while Constance stood in the little Papayas, each admiring the other’s fruit.
They were quite interested in the spiky brilliant green peppers,
But even the brown fruits like coconuts were interesting…
…and so was the Yucca root!
They both were happy to see the wild blackberries – it almost made them feel at home!

So many colors, so many different shapes….you convey them soooooo beautifully we can almost smell them too!!!! Thank you for the warmth you brought to an otherwise gloomy and cold morning in Sutton!!!! Have a wonderful day.
The fruit was amazing – fresh and beautiful, we eat yummy fruit in the morning, noon and night – hard to resist!
This really is a cornucopia – and such a different one from the usual markets that the Quimper Hittys like to visit. Beautiful pictures.
Totally different fruits, and yet a similar atmosphere, the Hittys were charmed by the experience, and the humans delighted with the results of the morning shop!
Hope some of them taste better than they might appear! Wish we had more of these unusual fruits in US! Loving your sharing your trip with us. Have you been there before? Hittys are always game to learn about new things and places!
I haven’t tasted them all, but can vouch for the deliciousness of the pineapple, blackberries, guayaba, papaya, yucca root, and also (though not pictured) the strawberries, mushrooms, carrots, bananas, oranges, leeks, and green onions!
what does Yucca root taste like? The produce all looks wonderful! What a great culinary adventure
The yucca root I ate was in a tortilla, sort of a thick omelette, and it was very good a bit potato-y and starchy.
What delicious fruit – so appetizing and healthy
