Sleep Attire
Constance is somewhat romantic – she prefers to sleep in her old-fashioned linen nightgown, nightcap and the Quimper Hitty’s glorious bed.
Patience is practical. She prefers a flannel Nightgown, and handwoven covers.
What does a Pirate wear to bed?
Longjohns…
…of course!
Thank you so much to our Hitty friend Penny, who hand-knitted these fabulous longjohns, which fit Gráinne perfectly, and keep her perfectly cosy at night in her draughty hammock.

The girls all have lovely sleep attire. So happy Gráinne the pirate has her long johns and is comfortable and warm.
Longjohn Gráinne is very very happy and we can’t thank you enough for the marvellous addition to the Quimper Hitty wardrobe!
To each her own!!! The Quimper Hittys are a true reflexion of it…longjohns by Penny are a perfect fit for Gráinne!!!! Constance and Patience elegant and practical….what a lovely family!
The dolls are very particular! I am glad we found something to suit Gráinne, and now they are all happy!
Diversity is definitely the spice of life at the QH household…love it!
We love the little dolly-infusions of such spice, our lives are enriched by them!
I love that Grainne’s hammock is strung up along the treadles of your loom! All 3 QH’s have perfectly perfect nightwear!
Of course Gráinne would prefer to hang her hammock between the beams amidship on the below-deck, but until we get her a ship…
Pirate lass has the most beautiful eyes!! Are they glass or a super-fantastic paint job?
Thank you Anne – they are painted!
if i was Grainne I’d be tempted to wear those longjohns all day, they are fantastic, but maybe a little uncomfortable if she sits on all those buttons. Love the loom shots and Patience’s Raggety Anne
Aren’t the longjohns just stupendous? I am pretty sure Gráinne prefers to have the trap door buttons than not!
Albert Einstein said “Imagination is more important than knowledge. For knowledge is limited to all we now know and understand, while imagination embraces the entire world, and all there ever will be to know and understand.” Wonder if he lived with a Hitty?
He does seem to have been a playful fellow! I wonder…
love the variety of night wear…Constance looks so romantic in her white linen gown and Patience is the very picture of cozy practicality but oh that Grainne!!! Red long johns, that is just so perfect for her. How great that she has one of Penny’s artful creations to keep her warm! Great photos…love all the beds (and hammock!).
Constance dreams of mildly exciting adventures with happy endings, Patience is making mental lists of tomorrow’s projects and Gráinne is rocking in her hammock, humming ‘yo ho ho and a bottle of rum’.
Nothing wrong with being old fashioned. I think it is charming
No indeed, Constance is her usual charming self whatever she decides to wear!
