Camas
Hatty and I found many things as we walked home this afternoon….
…we found a lovely place to sit and enjoy the tranquil beauty…
.
.
…we found each flower unique and lovely…
…and we found ourselves grateful that these blue-washed spring meadows are part of our world.
.
.
.

And now they are part of ours too…thanks for sharing!
You are welcome! We hope spring flowers are coming to your woods!
Sweet Hatty, thank you for sharing this sacred space with us.
The camas flowers are rare, blooming only in these west coastal meadows and in a few isolated areas in the cascade mountains…we are so lucky to live where we can see and love them!
Oh my goodness! Thank you so much for sharing this exquisite beauty with us! Such precious beauty! You are blessed, and you bless us. Thank you!
They are absolutely my favourite spring flowers! I am glad you have a chance to see them in my pictures, come visit in April some time!
It’s so wonderful that you appreciate these beautiful gifts of nature and pass them along to us. Thank you.
We are happy to share them, you are very welcome!
That looks like Beacon hill park??? I love the Camas, but don’t put them in a vase with a light coloured table runner…when they wilt, they drip indigo and stain!!!
I planted some in my garden, but there aren’t enough yet to pick any – but I’ll keep the dripping blue stains in mind!
maybe it would work to dye fabric?
Perhaps it would, but it might take a lot of plants! The First Nations used to eat the starchy bulb
what serenity.. and such lovely flowers and meadows. Hatty looks especially dear in her warm hood bonnet and coat.
It is a very restorative place! It was spitting rain off and on during our walk, and Hatty was glad I had the forethought to dress her in the right gear!
