Felt Stars
Dalahäst encouraged Amelia to stitch some pretty star shapes…
They are made using a felt star shape with six wee felt circles on top in a contrasting colour!
Circles are attached using star stitches in the base colour…
And edges are neatened with blanket stitch in the contrast!
The beginning of something Christmassy!

Christmas will be magical at your place!!!! These are beautiful!!!!
They are pretty aren’t they – we liked making magical Christmases.
The stars are very pretty. She does a wonderful job embroidering them! 🙂
Amelia is a great help to me these days…and it is fun to make things with an enthusiastic assistant!
They are beautiful! Have you seen Susan Foulkes’ book about weaving paper hearts? It’s a Swedish tradition that i think you are familiar with but she has taken it to new heights. http://www.blurb.com/b/4649792-christmas-hearts
I hadn’t seen the book. The paper heart basket is something I’ve made every year since I can remember, but hers look absolutely amazing!
I bought her book and the stars truly are wonderful! I think that you would enjoy making them!
Love viewing the Swedish Dalecarlian horse. It reminds me of my mother. Your sweet little stars are wonderful. Thank you for showing us how it’s done. It encourages me to try. My Hitty’s would love a little Swedish Yuletide fun.
They are fun to make! Bigger (human-sized) looks great too. You could use a cooky cutter as a shape to begin with
oh so lovely! Dalahest is one of my favorites too
I still have the one my great aunt brought me when I was two years old! Perhaps it will make a guest appearance one of these days!
such clever little ornaments. Amelia is so talented!!
We count that high praise, coming as it does from a genius embroiderer!
What lovely workmanship as well as cultural encouragement in this Advent season. Thanks for the journey into another culture.
You are welcome – we love to indulge ourselves in our family traditions at this time of year, and sometimes learn new ways ourselves!
Wonderful idea to use lovely Christmas Sweater as a prop.and background. You are just so creative. She is beautiful, and her stars are so thoughtful.
That is one of our favourite sweaters (and the warmest!!)
