Jane is unsatisfied…despite the delicious mushrooms, lemon and parsley, she thinks her soup is too Blah!

So Rose exchanged her pinafore for her bonnet and shawl…




…and set off for the Carnicería to consult with Gracia.




Gracia has a suggestion…




…and both Rose and Jane think she’s right – adding pepper to the soup makes it perfect!



Happy Peppercorn Ceremony Day, which has been celebrated in Bermuda every April 23 since 1816. This is a legal transaction wherein  the sum of one peppercorn is presented to the governor by the masonic lodge, as annual payment of rent for the Old State House.
