November Walk on the Beach
The beach is always interesting after a storm…
.
.
…wind and waves churn things up- both uncovering and depositing stuff, like plastic…
.
.
…and new bits of driftwood, and fish!
.
.
Did a giant Hitty lose an ear?!
.
.
Our favourite thing is finding bits of interesting glass – this one has chicken wire embedded in it!
.
.
…it is a conundrum…
.
.
…how big smashing waves contribute to such tiny things of beauty!
.
.
A very different walk here out East…35 cm of snow on the ground, ski slopes running…minus 12C! Thanks for sharing this bountiful outing! Warms the heart!
Br-r-r that’s chilly all right, and sounds like a lot of shovelling, ugh. We have another storm in the offing so may have to make another trip to the beach in a few days!
Such treasures!! It’s fun to see Hitty sized things from the opposite coast. 😊
Beach-examining is one our favourite activities! We usually only bring home the blue glass, but collect and dispose of the plastic.
and a pretty, warm sweater is essential. Nice collection of beach glass.
We like this sweater too – made of Noro Lace scraps, all the Hittys like it. We have one other, but Tansy had it on for a month on her recent trip…Rose might want to consider knitting a few more!
what an interesting walk on the beach and what a lovely little beach comber! I love all the pretty glass she is collecting. She certainly looks snug in that cute sweater.
Our beach is always interesting! Every time we go it is different but the same…a very contemplative and restorative place.
