Beach Excursion
Constance, Tansy and Aurelia promenaded along the beach in their old-fashioned bathing costumes…
.
.
…and sat on a rock to enjoy the morning sparkles as the wavelets sloshed back and forth.
.
.
Their destination was on the other side of the boulder, so up they went…
.
.
Gráinne met them on the other side!
.
.
Mindful of a previous outing in the dory, Tansy gathered some rocks for ballast… (click here for that exciting adventure)
.
.
…and Aurelia made sure there were life rings, and a bailer.
.
.
Gráinne pushed off with her oar…
.
.
and off they rowed!
.
Tansy’s bathing bloomers are lovely although I fear they might sink her, ballast seems a good idea.
How did the women swim in those outfits???! The rocks in the bottom of the boat worked a treat, though Tansy thought a picnic cooler full of refreshing liquids might have done the trick…
SOOO Cute!!! Did you make all of the outfits? I especially enjoyed seeing the skirt on Constance’s dress with the diagonal/little piecing of the insert there….each outfit is very detailed…and of course the boat is a master piece for the Hittys.
I made the green stripe and purple stripe dress, but the one Constance is wearing was made by a Hitty friend. All three outfits began as men’s shirts!
what a fun outing. I LOVE the girls in their vintage beach wear. SOOO cute. And of course Grainne would be waiting with a boat. Perfect.
It was a beautiful sparkley morning – Swallows and Amazons sprang to mind!
Such wonderful vintage bathing costumes the girls have. Looks like they had a wonderful.
They did have a wonderful morning! We are so lucky to live so near the water!
What a fun summer day. Those old fashioned swimming outfits are adorable on all three Hittys. They look like they had a ball…especially in the little canoe.
The girls love their Newfoundland fishing Dory, and they enjoyed their expedition around the tide pools!
